Flies start biting 'for the rain
Can't wash the sweat away
Dragons are fit for fighting
And the Wolf is here to stay
In a quiet voice you ask me
What's for dinner? and I say:
It's just a you, and me, and pizza
In the doorway kinda day
Carry on
You're plenty strong for one, my son
Carry on
It's not a race that can be won
Just a day that's nearly done
Carry on
I won't hide you from the winter
When you're ready for the snow
Know the wolf, it isn't friendly
You'll have dragons of your own
As I love you I will promise:
This will pass, and always know
It's just a you, and me, and pizza
In the doorway kinda of day
Carry on
You're plenty strong for one, my son
Carry on
It's not a race that can be won
Just a day that's nearly done
Carry on
When the wolf has had its fill
And all my dragons fly away
I will love you from a distance
That no living man can say
And of all our many moments
I will surely miss the most
All the you, and me, and pizza
In the doorway kinda days
Carry on
You're plenty strong for one, my son
Carry on
It's not a race that can be won
Just a day that's nearly done
Carry on

In Happiness
Why can't we live in happiness
I know we've earned the right
We've paid our dues to live life through
Without the endless fight
Why can't we live in happiness
So simple like a dream
I'd hold you like a valley holds
The stream that makes it green
Why can't we live in happiness
Just for an hour or two
What I would give to see you smile
The way you used to do

When Dragons Win
I would fight a dragon
To make my mate
My mate again
Although I'd surely loose
On my weakest day
I'm plenty strong for one
But still can't win
A war for two
To make my mate
My mate again
Although I'd surely loose
On my weakest day
I'm plenty strong for one
But still can't win
A war for two

Do Not Anger Irony
I dream of a life that hurts you
So I stay awake and write instead
A poem for every coffee I'm not allowed to bring
A song for every evening we sit in seperate swings
Of all the ships that pass in the night why did ours collide?
Do not anger irony
It's love that keeps me wanting you
It's love that made me leave
So I stay awake and write instead
A poem for every coffee I'm not allowed to bring
A song for every evening we sit in seperate swings
Of all the ships that pass in the night why did ours collide?
Do not anger irony
It's love that keeps me wanting you
It's love that made me leave
